 RULE BOOK

Yeah, I know people hate reading rules and all that, but this is just what you need to know to play the game, and you can check back any time or ask me if you still feel confused. ;)

Starting
Okay, so, as usual register on the board and then create your character profiles according to the form. You can have as many characters on your account as you want.

You can also play as one of the preset characters; there's a list of them on the joining board.

Sorry, but campers can't bring their own horses. You can, however, PM me if you want a certain horse, and I'll think about it. :)

If you are a camper, you don't have to wait for your character to be accepted, but if I ask you to edit something in your profile you still should.

Post at the office's main board and you'll get your dorm room and camp horse assignments. You can also sign up for lessons and they'll be posted on the bulletin board.

After that, you're done setting up your character, and can really start playing. :)

Characters (and what they can/t do)
When making your character, please, please, PLEASE do not make him/her a perfect person. It just makes everything boring. Normal people have faults and fears just like everyone else, so you should try and include those in your character's personality profile.

If you want to be a counselor I'll have to approve your profile before you can start playing as one. But yes, we do need more counselors! They have a lot of jobs around the camp and you'll be assigned to one of the above: riding instructor, barn management, canteen duty (cooking and cleaning), kid duty (telling them what to do), or office secretary. You might also get assigned to more than one, so don't be too picky ;).

Oh, and we do need a camp cook!

The camp accepts kids 11-15 years old. I don't want anything R-rated. Romance is fine, kissing's fine, but I'll delete any posts that go beyond that.

And as for curse words, unless your character came from a rough background she/he shouldn't be saying them every 5 sentences.

Characters should follow camp rules. Or try not to get caught, if they're disobeying them.

RP
The sim time on this game is indefinite. I'll post lessons or shows or activities depending on how much people have posted in between them. I'll still announce them beforehand of course, but don't expect to follow a one day = one week thing.

I'd like this to be an intermediate RP, so please try not to post one-liners. I want at least 4 sentences a post and that's a bare minimum. Two paragraphs should be fine, right?

On the other hand, try not to post giant novellas that take ages to read. It's not that I don't like the writing; it's because it makes people struggle to play, and I want this to be easy. :)

Horses and Riding
After taking 1 or 2 lessons for evaluation, each camper gets a horse assigned to them. They aren't in charge of feeding or mucking out but they can pitch in once in a while, and have to groom and tack up by themselves.

Campers will also take lessons and ride depending on their skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced). MC accepts only riders who have cantered before, but please, I don't want everyone to be advanced!

Beginner level means you can walk, trot, and canter decently on your own, and you'll learn to jump.
Intermediate means you can jump up to around 2'9" and do basic dressage like bending, and you might learn to collect.
And advanced means higher jumping and more dressage work. (If your camper is not a jumper you can tell me that too.)

Your schedules are posted at the office. All campers have to take lessons at least twice a week, and will have to either ride, lunge, or turn out their horse on the other days.

Tack is provided and so are helmets for some beginners; characters have to bring their own boots breeches etc, but they can ride wearing whatever they want.

Riders have to ask permission or leave a note at the office bulletin board before they go out on the trails or cross-country course. Everything else is free for campers to use. :)

Shows will be held every so often among campers at the showgrounds. They'll usually have classes for every skill level. Shows are judged first using a randomizer, then I PM you what place you got and you can decide how you want to roleplay whatever happened to you.

The password to the joining board is ripsteveirwin.

In case I've forgotten something about the rules, you can just PM me, or have your campers ask the counselors.
